What is Hyaluronic Acid and Why is it in our Joint Formula?

Here at Eladon Ltd we are committed to sourcing and providing the highest quality products to people all over the world. Many of our products have been tailor-made to support the health of endurance athletes and Joint Formula is no exception. Hyaluronic Acid took the supplement world by storm and we are very proud to have been able to add it to our Joint Formula.

1. What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic Acid is a non-protein that occurs naturally in our bodies. It is primary component in the tissue of our cartilage, skin and eyes. As we age, or as our lifestyles begin to put too much pressure on our joints, our bodies create less Hyaluronic Acid.
This means that our synovial fluid becomes less effective in lubricating and protecting our joints (particularly knees) from friction. This can lead to less flexibility, painful joint movement and even osteoarthritis. By replenishing a small amount of Hyaluronic Acid, studies have suggested that our bodies are simulated to produce more Hyaluronic Acid, recreating a viscous, protective environment for joint cartilage.

2. Why did we added it to our joint formula complex?

Historically Eladon's Joint Formula has contained Glucosamine Sulphate, Chondroitin and Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). The benefit of adding Hyaluronic Acid is that where Glucosamine Sulphate and Chondroitin help repair and rebuild the tissue in cartilage, tendons and ligaments etc. Hyaluronic Acid is thought to work on the actual fluid of the joint itself.
MSM, is a mineral that is said to benefit connective tissues and the respiratory system, the other three ingredients are related molecules. GAGs, (glycosaminoglycans) which work synergistically together, meaning that each ingredient helps the other to do its job in the joint better and more efficiently.

Our aim in adding Hyaluronic Acid to our joint formula is to bring faster and more effective relief. We are pleased to be have been able to include this amazing product in our Joint Formula.

3. What are the benefits?

Hyaluronic Acid is at its highest concentration in skin, cartilage and eye tissue, therefore this is where the key benefits lie.

4. What are the side effects?

Hyaluronic Acid has been found to be incredibly safe, since it is already in abundance in the body. It is non toxic and as such is unlikely to interact with any other supplements or medication. It is important to note however, that our joint formula is unsuitable for vegetarians.

“As an ageing athlete I was starting to get concerned about the wear and tear on my body (joints in particular) so I started using Elagen’s Joint Formula as I completely trust the company and after the spectacular results with Elagen sport I had nothing to lose. From using Joint Formula I have significantly noticed less pain in my wrist from an old injury and I rest easy knowing that the rest of my joints are being looked after.” - Frank McVeigh, Northern Ireland
